It was before 6 pm on a Friday and though we were assured a dry and fresh day, it had not given up on raining! Ryan and I were sitting talking over the rugby rankings, ready for the sixth fuel drain to come in. Finally we received the phone call from a girl on a company trip who had arrived at the Sainsburys filling garage in Kemincham and put the wrong fuel in a diesel Volvo hire car by mistake. The unfortunate thing was quite agitated it seemed, crying "I still cannot believe that I have ruined the vehicle! I am just so used to filling my petrol vehicle I completely forgot that I was driving a diesel!" We instructed her to take it easy and not to fret, and that these things regrettably can happen. She had managed to get the vehicle to a secure spot and, seeing as it was only a short distance from where we were, we were able to find the customer almost instantly. The bad fuel was cleaned up and removed so she was able to get back to the hotel she was residing in. Despite the fact we got pretty drenched, it was all worth the effort to watch her drive away satisfied and much less worried. Another misfuel correction in Cheshire well done in my books!

Ahhh, that was a great night of sleep! 7:00 am on a rainy Sunday and I was off to assist an older woman after she put contaminated fuel in her diesel Mitsubishi in Kemincham. I'd been informed she had driven away from the filling station and broken down along a country road on the way to see her godchildren. I plugged the location into the TomTom and was with her within an hour or so. I reached the destination and drained the wrong fuel from the vehicle. As I was doing the work she told me, "I have been getting somewhat forgetful in my old age and did not remember about the vehicle needing diesel seeing that I had only just bought it a short while back right after my old one, which I had owned for about thirty years, eventually died". I finished the job and she gifted me a toffee and said thanks. What a delightful Cheshire woman!
